The Patriots Were All Set to Hoist This Banner If Tom Brady's DeflateGate Suspension Wasn't Overturned

Alternate history.

THIS is the banner the @Patriots would have unveiled tonight if Tom Brady did not play @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/VemK9oNyY6

Tom Brady was suspended, and then he wasn't. It was a penalty that totaled zero games, with the punishment ultimately being that we had to hear about it every fucking day for the past seven-and-a-half months. That's probably almost over, but not quite. Earlier tonight we heard some new news surrounding DeflateGate, namely a banner that the Patriots would've revealed in support of the man in the middle of the scandal, had said suspension been upheld. The pennant was set to hang in place of their Super Bowl Champs banner (they already have enough of those anyway). Would it have been a bold gesture of defiance? An open act of rebellion? That's up to you in some sort of alternate timeline. Instead, we all know how it ended in our universe, and now it just seems like a big waste of money.
