LeBron James has more than 23 million Twitter followers. So when a report emerged last month indicating that a sponsored tweet from LeBron is worth upwards of $139,000, we weren't surprised. What does surprise us, though, is that Cristiano Ronaldo's sponsored tweets are worth significantly more than LeBron's.

According to a new report, Ronaldo—who has more than 37 million Twitter followers—rakes in about $250,000 for some of the promotional tweets that he sends out. That's nearly twice the amount that LeBron makes for his sponsored tweets. And it's obviously a ton of money to get for typing paying someone else to type 140 characters.

We'll probably never find out exactly how much some of these major athletes are making off sponsored tweets. But rest assured, it's more money than most of us will make in an entire lifetime.
