Jets center Nick Mangold is a Pro Bowl player when it comes to protecting his quarterback. And from the sound of things, he knows a thing or two about protecting his house—and his neighborhood—too.

According to TMZ Sports, Mangold helped police bust a car burglary ring in Chatham, N.J. early Sunday morning. He woke up to hear one of his car alarms going off, ran to his garage, and discovered that someone had tried to break into his ride. He called 911 right away and, within just a few minutes, police showed up and were able to track down five suspects, including three juveniles, about a mile from Mangold's home. Police believe they are responsible for trying to break into Mangold's car and for committing more than 40 other car burglaries in the area. They have been charged with burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Mangold hasn't spoken up about the incident yet. But as you can probably tell by looking at his photo above, he's a character, so we imagine he'll have quite an explanation for what happened. Stay tuned.
