The adrenaline rush associated with normal, run-of-the-mill, plain vanilla BASE jumping isn't enough for some people. Nope, standing on a cliff in a flysuit or holding a parachute and launching oneself into a low-altitude free fall just doesn't do it for those on the fringes of society.

That group of people will always look for ways to take things to the next level, and in the form of what is called Suspension BASE jumping, we now know what the future looks like.

Josh Miramant became the 11th person ever to complete this feat, which involves hooking the parachute directly to the body by piercing the skin in one's back. He was bleeding, of course, once the jump was finished, but said that the adrenaline was enough to block him from feeling any pain at the time.

The one word which kept popping into my head while watching this was, "WHY?!" But if you have to ask, you'll probably never understand.
