9-Year-Old Batboy Dies After Being Struck by Player's Warmup Swing

A 9-year-old batboy dies after being struck by a player's warmup swing.

A nine-year-old batboy of a summer collegiate baseball team died on Sunday after being struck in the head by a player's warmup swing.

"With the permission of the family, and with much sorrow and a very broken heart, I regretfully inform everyone that Kaiser Carlile passed away earlier this evening," the Liberal Bee Jaysannounced on Facebook.

The team is helping the family with a fundraising effort in order to "defer medical expenses and assist the family with other needs."

Plenty of those who had the chance to interact with Kaiser posted messages to Twitter as part of the grieving process.
