On Saturday morning, the Green Bay Packers' Andrew Quarless was arrested in South Beach for a misdemeanor count of discharging a firearm in public. According to a police report obtained by the Miami New Times, a parking attendant near Lennox Avenue and Fifth Street dialed 911 after witnessing Quarless and a 31-year-old male identified as Michael Ritchie approaching a white car with several women inside.

Eventually, the situation got out of hand when one woman was overheard yelling, "No, get away, leave me alone!" Quarless responded by pulling out a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and firing two shots. The Packers tight end attempted to flee the scene after the parking attendant alerted authorities. However, his black Porsche Panamera was found a few blocks away from where the incident occurred and Quarless was found "attempting to conceal himself and a black firearm in a nearby plant."
