Pre-season has finally entered the home straight. After months of footballers looking like idiots abroad, matches against the Malaysian All-Stars and uninspiring transfer sagas, the Premier League is just one short week away.
Unsurprisingly, then, Instagram has been awash with footballers telling us all how prepared they are for the new season. There's been Frank Lampard saying how great the team spirit is in New York City's GOAT new team, Wilfried Bony has announced how good it is to be back with the squad and Gabriel Agbonlahor, not quite on the same level, is getting pretty pissed about having to play against 'local' teams.
Some players, though, have managed to stretch their holiday out. Fabio Borini, finally getting the hint that Liverpool don't want him, has been back on the beach, whilst Neymar is somehow still on holiday, having now been to Vegas, Japan and Ibiza. Pretty good summer for him, then.
