The great thing about the Warriors being in the Finals is that it makes it easier to forget about the state of uncertainty the 49ers are in. They've lost their Jim Harbaugh and have seen Patrick Willis, Justin Smith, and Chris Borland say fuck it and retire.

On Friday, San Fransisco lost one more. Offensive tackle Anthony Davis decided to call it quits at the ripe age of 25.

"But he's only 25!," you say. Well, let him explain.

After a few years of thought, I’ve decided it will be best for me to take a year or so away from the NFL. This will be a time for me to allow my Brain and Body a chance to heal. I know many won’t understand my decision, that’s ok...I hope you too have the courage to live your life how you planned it when day dreaming to yourself growing up. Your Life is Your dream and you have the power to control that dream. Im simply doing what’s best for my body as well as my mental health at this time in my life.

Davis played every game for his first five seasons, but spent a majority of last season fighting injuries. The concussion he suffered on Nov. 16 sidelined him for four games and led to lingering symptoms afterward. It was Davis's first concussion, but you can't blame him for thinking about his future.
