Ray McDonald can't seem to stay out of trouble. And according to reports coming out of Santa Clara, Calif., the Bears defensive lineman is in the news (again) for alleged domestic violence.

The Santa Clara Police Department has revealed that McDonald—who was arrested on a domestic violence charge last year and released by the 49ers after being investigated in a sexual assault case—was arrested at 7 a.m. today at a home belonging to his former San Francisco teammate Justin Smith. Few details have been released about why McDonald was arrested. But he also received a child endangerment charge in addition to the domestic violence charge.

The Bears haven't commented on McDonald's arrest yet. But their team chairman George McCaskey was reportedly hesitant to sign McDonald this offseason because of his troubled past. So it wouldn't be a surprise if Chicago decided to release him soon.

Stay tuned for more details.

UPDATE:

The Bears have cut ties with McDonald.
