Martin Odegaard Is Finally Set to Make His Real Madrid Debut This Weekend

If he makes an appearance as planned, he'll become the youngest player in Real history at only 16 years and 156 days.

It feels like we've been waiting forever to see Martin Odegaard make his senior debut for Real Madrid.

The Norwegian teenage sensation is finally set to make an appearance for Los Blancos in the club's final game of the season this weekend against Getafe. If he makes an appearance as planned, he'll become the youngest player in Real history at only 16 years and 156 days.

Carlo Ancelotti was ready to give him a five minute cameo in Real's game with Almeria last month but the team didn't wrap up the victory until the 84th minute, which means the game wasn't as risk-free as Ancelotti wanted Odegaard's debut to be.

This is what made Martin Odegaard the most wanted teen in football.

With the La Liga title sewn up by Barcelona last weekend, Ancelotti is expected to hand debuts to a handful of prospects from Castilla – Real's development side who played in the third tier of Spanish football.

The leap shouldn't come as much of a shock to Odegaard – reportedly paid £80,000 per week – as he already trains with the first team for four days each week.
