If you're going to be in an orgy, don't film it. If you're going to film it, don't make racial slurs. Those are two seemingly easy rules to live by for anyone looking to avoid scandals (or drama in general, if you're not famous). But apparently that was too much to ask of Leicester City players: Tom Hopper, Adam Smith and James Pearson (who just so happens to be the son of team coach Nigel Pearson).
After reportedly stupidly compounding their mistake by sharing the video amongst their friends, it was somehow acquired by The Daily Mirror, which allows us to see (thankfully blurred out) glimpses of the bullshit the three got into whilst on a "goodwill tour" of Thailand. The reason they were in Thailand is because the team (for now, anyway) has a "strategic, international" partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, a partnership that has been active for three years (which makes sense because Leicester's father and son Chairmen happen to be Thai).
In the video Hopper states that one of their--uh--companions is "fucking minging -- an absolute one out of 10," and another dude off-camera labels one as "slit-eye." That's the way to make a bad situation worse, and almost certainly negates any positive effects the PR team had in mind when they came up with the goodwill tour.
If anything comes from the internal investigation that has been launched as a result of the video we'll let you know.
