Post-NFL life for Darren Sharper has not gone well. On Friday, in a New Orleans courtroom, Sharper pleaded guilty to federal charges of drugging and raping women. Sharper reportedly tried to use Xanax, Ambien, and Valium to rape three women. He admitted to three counts of conspiracy to distribute drugs and commit rape.

His federal sentencing is expected on August 20. Sharper will plead guilty to two counts of forcible rape and one count of simple rape from incidents in 2013. He was once a Super Bowl champion in 2011 and, four years later, he will be convicted of rape.

Sharper acknowledged his guilt in front of the entire courtroom on Friday.

“Mr. Sharper, are you pleading guilty because you are, in fact, guilty?” the judge asked.

“Yes, ma’am,” the former All-Pro responded.

Sharper's legal issues have been ongoing for some time now. He was indicted on federal charges last December, and his plea deal on Friday was his fourth with another expected in June. The former All-Pro safety accepted plea deals that will keep him in jail for almost a decade and force him to abide by some strict guidelines once he is released, like penis monitoring.
