Rajon Rondo has probably played in his final game with the Mavericks. We know this because, well, Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle pretty much said that Rondo's time with the Mavericks was over after he was ruled out for the remainder of the postseason with a back injury last week.

But just in case you're a Mavs fan who is holding out hope for Rondo's return, we can now say with absolute certainty that he is not coming back. At least, he's not coming back if this report from The Dallas Morning News writer Eddie Sefko turns out to be true:

1.

Multiple sources: Rajon Rondo did not receive a playoff share from the Dallas Mavericks.

We're not sure if that's technically allowed or not (shouldn't the Mavs have to pay Rondo, even if they're not happy with him?). But if they don't pay him, maybe the Rockets will?

Ha. Fortunately, Rondo has a max contract waiting for him this summer. Er, or does he?
