In January 2014, Jimmy Butler started yelling at his teammates while DJing in the Bulls' locker room. "Can I sing?" Butler exclaimed. "Can I sing? Can I sing?"

No answer.

"I don't sing for free," he said. "When ya'll book me for the United Center and I sell it out, then ya'll can come watch me sing."

Butler kept rolling on.

"They need to let me sing the anthem one of these games. I'll give y'all a little preview. It can't be cold outside, though."

No preview was given that night, but since then, we've gotten a taste of Butler's singing chops on more than a few occasions. In the above Instagram video posted by Nazr Mohammed (I wasn't aware he was still in the league), Butler belts out his latest hit rendition of "songs you might've gone to middle school with."

Teammate Joakim Noah, looking on half-amused, half-genuinely disgusted (or just sick of Butler's singing), hits back at the end of the video, "Why you singing this shit with a bunch of du—." Nope, nevermind Noah. Thankfully, he was cut off by Mohammed's quick trigger. Noah has good reason to be critical though. Apparently, Noah and Butler are quite the singers on the Bulls.

"What if I play my guitar?" Butler asked ESPN after that January 2014 national anthem request that fell on deaf-ears. "Me and Jo talk about that all the time. Jo thinks he can sing better than I can, so maybe he'll be out there with me."

That needs to happen. Noah's got the United Center reps in already.
