UFC fighter Conor McGregor caused a stir yesterday when he told Esquire that he could easily beat Floyd Mayweather in an MMA match. Mayweather's boxing career will be winding down this decade, and should he ever decide to have a go at MMA fighting, McGregor's ready with the juice:

"If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather—pound-for-pound boxing's best—if I fought Floyd, I would kill him in less than 30 seconds," he said. "It would take me less than 30 seconds to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and strangle him."

McGregor's quote wound up in front of Mayweather (presumably, Floyd looks at the rest of Internet when he's not on Instagram posting wild, sometimes scandalous shit), and reportedly, the champ wasn't very impressed.

According to TMZ Sports, Mayweather scoffed at the quote, and said in response, "I don't take that dude seriously. He's just trying to get himself some publicity."

Mayweather's reaction, for once, is completely agreeable. There's no reason to take McGregor seriously. Of-fucking-course a 26-year-old UFC star would beat the hell out of a 38-year-old, similarly built boxer. Mayweather's got the fight of the century to worry about. Let's all join Mayweather in "scoffing" (I'm dying to know what his "scoff" face looks like) at McGregor's words. I'll go first:
