If Michael Jordan played in the NBA today, how many points would he average? Hmmm…

Sadly, there's no way that we're ever going to know the answer to that question, because: 1) MJ is 52 now, meaning he's never going to play in the NBA again, and 2) Time machines don't exist, so the 29-year-old version of MJ isn't walking through the United Center doors anytime soon.

But that hasn't stopped people from trying to come up with an answer to the question in the past. And last night, Alonzo Mourning did it again when he made an appearance on Katie Nolan's Garbage Time and talked about the endless MJ vs. LeBron James debate. He said that, in his opinion, MJ would be regarded as a way better player than LeBron if he played in the NBA today because he'd average "almost 50" points per game.

"You wouldn't be able to touch him on the perimeter," Mourning said. "He'd be shooting a ton of free throws."

Probably so. But 50 PPG?! That still seems unlikely.
