If you had the opportunity, would you date Ronda Rousey? If you answered "yes" to that question, hopefully you are okay with being called "Bob" by the UFC Women's Bantamweight champion's mother. In a espnW piece written by Rousey's sister, Maria Burns Ortiz, we find out that their mother AnnMaria De Mars "has a policy of calling all of our boyfriends and even potential boyfriends by the name 'Bob.'"
While it may sound messed up, there is some solid logic behind the choice by AnnMaria.
Her reasoning: "What's the point in learning his name if he's not going to be sticking around?"
But, this is where it gets a little messed up. According to Maria, their mother also likes to assign numbers to each "Bob," which separates one "Bob" from another. "For example, Ronda’s last boyfriend was 'Bob 6,'" Ortiz reveals. "And yes, she calls them that to their faces."
Ouch. Now, in order to have Rousey's mother refer to you by your actual name, you need to go on a week-long mission wandering through the wilderness with only a few supplies in a backpack and...kidding, kidding! The real answer is you have to marry into the family.
