On Monday, Knicks guards J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert were shipped off to Cleveland as part of a three team, six-player trade with Cleveland and Oklahoma City. While it's a somber day for those of us in the local media, Smith leaves that festering infection at Madison Square Garden for a team that's en route to the playoffs. Sure, "A Christmas Story" House is his new city's most poppin' attraction, but Smith will be running the court with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving for the NBA season's latter half, which seems like a worthwhile tradeoff.
