Pretty much every NFL Sunday, news breaks in the run-up to games that affects not only this week’s action, but the rest of the season and years to come. Keeping track of all of this stuff can be kind of daunting, so we’re here to do the work for you. Keep it locked here all the way up until kickoff to find out everything going on around the NFL today:

  • The Atlanta Falcons’ Julio Jones—the NFL’s leading receiver with 1428 yards—is inactive today after suffering a hip pointer. It’s a huge loss for the NFC South-leading Falcons, who saw Jones haul in 11 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown on Monday night.

  • Even though they may not make the playoffs, it appears the Dallas Cowboys will bring back head coach Jason Garrett next season. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that owner both Jerry and Stephen Jones is satisfied enough with the coach’s performance (the Boys will finish have clinched the first winning record of Garrett’s tenure) that he’s earned more time at the helm.

  • Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis is planning on spending a ton of money this offseason in a complete overhaul of the team’s roster and front office. General manager Reggie McKenzie is likely to get he ax, and the team has been widely-rumored as a potential landing spot for 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.

  • Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton suffered a partial tear of his ACL and a sprained MCL, and will be out for four weeks. This leaves the Cardinals with only Ryan Lindley, who was signed off the street on November 11 and went 4-of-10 for 30 yards in relief of Stanton last week.

  • Roger Goodell announced that the NFL will vote in March whether to expand the playoff field from 12 to 14 teams. If the measure passes, reseeding (rather than a strict tournament format) will likely be implemented.
