After a near-miss against the Spurs on Friday, Kobe Bryant has passed Michael Jordan for the third spot on the NBA’s all-time scoring.
Bryant—who has been hearing comparisons to MJ his entire career—is now behind only Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the list. Kobe is now in his 19th season, and needed about 5000 more minutes of playing time to hit the milestone.
He’s got a long way to go to catch Malone, though; The Mailman is over 4500 points ahead of Kobe, which would probably take the Mamba two more (fully healthy) seasons to reach.
