Believe it or not, there's still a chance that Adrian Peterson might play during the current NFL season. The league doesn't necessarily want AP to come back this year, and it's still a little bit unclear as to whether or not the Vikings want him back on their team. But according to MMQB's Peter King, AP is "likely" going to be reinstated back into the NFL sometime next week. It's not definite just yet, but the belief is that he could be eligible to play football again within the next seven days.

"With Peterson likely (but not certain) to be reinstated by a league appeals officer Harold Henderson next week, the ball would be in Minnesota's court as to whether to activate him for the final three games of the year," King wrote this morning. "We'll hear lots about it this weekend, including whether the Vikings' coaching side is on the same page with the Vikings' front-office."

Obviously, stay tuned to see what becomes of this. But if AP does end up getting reinstated next week, it'll be really interesting to see what the Vikings decide to do.
