Tony Romo Might Play Sunday Even Though He Has Two Fractures in His Back

Fractures in his back may not be able to stop Tony Romo from playing on Sunday

When Tony Romo went down last Sunday with another apparent back injury, Dallas Cowboys fans feared the worst. Fresh off back surgery this offseason, not only were the 6-2, NFC East leading Cowboys facing life without one of the top quarterbacks in the league, but they would also have to come to grips with starting Brandon Weeden for the rest of the season, an old man who once threw the worst pass in human history.

It was revealed today that Romo suffered two fractures of what is referred to as the transverse process, which is a bone that sticks out from both sides of the vertebrae and not a type of math equation. With that diagnoses, one would assume that Romo would be out for a while, but, despite not practicing all week, he is yet to be ruled inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. ESPN is reporting that the Cowboys are saying that the fractures aren't related to his offseason surgery and will not end the quarterback's season.

Playing football with fractures in your back sounds pretty awful, but Romo has played through a lot of tough injuries in his career. Still, it would be pretty amazing to see him on the field this Sunday.
