The fraternity of NBA players is one of the most elite and prestigious in sports. Only 450 guys at a time are on an NBA roster, and of those, only 150 have the privilege of calling themselves starters. If you have earned one of those jobs on an NBA team, you are unequivocally a good basketball player.

However, like with most professions, not all starters are created equal.

Some teams lack depth, others experience, and a few the desire to actually win games (looking at you, Philadelphia), but whatever the reason teams will on occasion trot out starters who have no business being there or who at the very least would not be starters on many other NBA squads. It’s not the player’s fault that he ended up in those circumstances, but guys like Solomon Hill or Lance Thomas owe their starting gigs to simply being in the right place at the right time.

While it must be stressed that these guys are all at least solid NBA players, there can be no top tier of players without a bottom. Here are the 15 Worst Starters in the NBA Today.
