Saido Berahino has been one of the bright sparks of this Premier League season but things are about get a lot worse for the West Brom striker.

Berahino – who earned his first call-up to the senior England squad – was arrested two days after the 21-year-old scored against Manchester United in the Premier League last month. The striker was pulled over at 3.39am on the M6 after reaching speeds of 110mph.

Drink driving can result in six months in prison, a £5,000 fine and a one year driving ban.

The West Brom striker – who is the top scoring Englishman in the Premier League so far this season – was interviewed and bailed but must go back to the police station to talk again with officers in December 2014.

Berahino is thought to be earning around £14,000 a week at West Brom but has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
