Will Adrian Peterson play this season? Last week, Peterson reached a plea deal for his child abuse case, paving the way for his possible return to the NFL. However, the league struck down his immediate reinstatement which forced the NFLPA to step in. The Players Association sent a letter to the NFL requesting that AP get taken off the commissioner’s exempt list, or they would file an expedited non-injury grievance

It looks like the NFL denied the NFLPA's request because they have followed through and released the following statement, courtesy of NFL.com

"The NFLPA has filed an expedited, non-injury grievance to remove Adrian Peterson from the Commissioner's Exempt list based on explicit language in a signed agreement dated September 18, 2014," the statement read. "We asked the NFL to honor the terms of that agreement last week and as of now, they have failed to respond or comply. It is our obligation to protect all players' rights, and we will pursue any and all breaches of any contract between a player and his team or the NFL."

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport believes Peterson could be back in December. If the NFLPA gets their way, this timetable could very well become a reality.
