Mark Cuban Hopes the Lakers "Suck Forever"

So do a lot of other Lakers haters.

The Lakers aren't very good right now. In fact, they're one of the worst teams in the entire NBA. And you know who's really, really, really happy about that? Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. He realizes that they're probably going to be able to attract some free agents in the near future. But as of right now, he's enjoying the Lakers' recent struggles.

"As far as the Lakers, I think there are going to be a lot of teams that are going to be focusing and saying, 'Look, I've got a ton of cap room, free agents A, B, and C, why don't you guys come together and come play for me?'" Cuban said on radio station TheBeast 980 in Los Angeles this week. "And L.A. has always been considered a destination, so maybe they feel there's a valid strategy. You know me…Personally, I just hope they suck forever."

Forever?

In reality, the Lakers sucking "forever" would be a bad thing for the league. It'd also be a bad thing for NBA fans, because we don't know how many more terrible Lakers games we can sit through (there's yet another nationally-televised Lakers game on tonight!). But it's nice to hear Cuban expressing his disdain for the franchise. It'll only help make things more interesting once the Lakers are back at full strength and competing with the Mavs again.
