On Tuesday, the Steelers released running back LeGarrette Blount after he reportedly walked off the field and went to the locker room in the middle of a Monday Night Football game because he was unhappy about his playing time. And the thought was that Blount—who has played with four different teams in his five seasons in the league—may have played himself right out of the NFL by doing what he did.

But according to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Blount is already close to signing with a new NFL team. And that team is the Patriots, the team that Blount played for last season:

Nothing is official just yet. But there's a good chance that Blount could end up signing with New England before the end of the day. Stay tuned.

UPDATE:

Blount is officially back in Foxborough after signing a two-year deal for the veteran minimum, according to ESPN
