Kevin Garnett Wants to Buy the Timberwolves One Day

This would make so much sense.

At the moment, Kevin Garnett owns every important statistical record in Timberwolves history. But according to him, he wants to own more than just records when it comes to the Minnesota franchise. One day, he wants to own the T'wolves, too.

After the Nets lost to the Warriors last night, KG told Yahoo! Sports that he wants to buy the Timberwolves once he's done playing basketball. It doesn't sound like he has a plan in place to actually do it just yet. But it's obviously something that's on his mind.

"I want to buy the Timberwolves," he said. "Put a group together and perhaps some day try to buy the team. That's what I want."

Nets general manager Billy King believes KG would do a great job, too. He told Yahoo! Sports that he'd be the perfect person to buy the Timberwolves.

"He would be one of the best owners in the NBA because he understands what the players need," King said, "and he understands what it takes to be successful in the NBA."

For now, KG is still playing, so nothing will come of all this anytime soon. But KG has made more than $315 million playing in the NBA and more in endorsement deals. So we wouldn't be surprised at all if he were to look into buying his former team once he hangs up his sneakers for good.
