Hines Ward has more career receptions than Randy Moss and more career touchdowns than James Lofton. So, when the wide receiver-turned-NBC analyst says, "There's nothing you can tell me about football that I don't already know," he has irrefutable evidence to back up his claim. Still, Ward hasn't been infallible in his first year with a press pass, according to some of his former teammates and coaches at least.

After Pittsburgh was blown out by Cleveland in Week 3, Ward said the Steelers defense "looks soft" and branded the team's offense as "finesse" (fighting words in the Steel City). His comments, which were echoed by fellow Steelers legend Bill Cowher, were dismissed by his former coach Mike Tomlin who called Ward's comments "elevator music." According to Ward, former teammates accosted him for being a "traitor."

This is one of the many challenges Ward will face as he trades in his shoulder pads for a lavalier mic and crack-back blocks for knee-jerk "hot takes."
