New York Giants Pro Bowl wide receiver Victor Cruz was just carted off the field with a very serious injury to his right knee, which was quickly diagnosed as a torn patellar tendon.

Cruz was by himself in the back corner of the end zone with what looked like an easy touchdown grab, but when he leaped to catch Eli Manning’s pass he immediately crumpled to the ground in agony. He was carted off the field in tears, and given the reaction of both the Giants and Eagles it was very clear how serious this was.

Sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya just confirmed that the injury was a torn patellar tendon, which will end Cruz’s season. Heading into the game, he was leading the Giants with 321 receiving yards in five games, and was one of the preeminent deep threats in the entire NFL.
