Back in early September, a short time after TMZ Sports released the now-infamous Ray Rice elevator tape, Ray Lewis made an appearance on ESPN and revealed that he planned on reaching out to his former Ravens teammate to talk about what he was going through. And apparently, he's lived up to that promise in recent weeks.
Lewis just did an interview with the Baltimore Sun and, during it, he mentioned that he has been in touch with Rice recently and that he's hoping for the best for him.
"You're talking about a friend that's in a bad, bad situation," he said. "There's not one night that I don't pray for him and everybody that's going through it, and that will be that."
Lewis didn't specify what the two talk about or how Rice is doing right now. But he did emphasize that he has no plans of cutting off his former friend in his darkest hour.
