Saints' Jimmy Graham Expected to Miss Additional Time Following Bye Week With Shoulder Injury

When the Saints come back after their bye week, it will most likely be without their star tight end Jimmy Graham.

During the week, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the team's bye week came at a perfect time for the injured Jimmy Graham. And while Payton revealed that Graham is "doing fine," the shoulder sprain which cut his game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers short last Sunday will most likely keep their star tight end out for a little while longer. Just how long?

According to NFL.com's Kevin Patra, Graham is "likely" out for two to three more weeks after the Saints' break in action. Recently, New Orleans signed tight end Tom Crabtree which set off speculation that Graham was going to be out for a little while.

Of course, Graham could ramp up his recovery to get out on the field sooner than the timetable dictates, but given his importance to the team, it may be best to make sure he's 100 percent. As they say, it's better to be safe than sorry.
