About a week ago, Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrieโ€”who used to pitch for the Orioles, the team that Kansas City is playing in the ALCS right nowโ€”sent out a #TBT tweet that featured him in a Baltimore jersey along with the caption, "These O's Ain't Royal," an obvious reference to Chris Brown's "Loyal":

And it got a pretty good response on Twitter. So after Guthrie pitched a solid game for the Royals last night, surrendering just one run in five innings during Kansas City's 2-1 Game 3 victory over Baltimore, he unveiled a T-shirt that saidโ€”you guessed itโ€”"These O's Ain't Royal" on the front of it during his press conference. And while some people (Royals fans!) loved it, there were others (Orioles fans!), who took to Twitter to call him out for wearing the shirt:

2.

Jeremy Guthrie it ain't over until the fat lady sings and for wearing that shirt I hope she sits right on your arrogant head! #IBackTheBirds

So a short time after Guthrie's press conference ended, he actually issued an apology on Twitter for wearing the shirt:

3.

My intention was not to anger O's fans or friends w/my shirt 2night.I apologize to those offended.Did not consider this reaction.Go Royals.

Did you have a problem with the shirt? Or do you think Orioles fans overreacted?
