Earlier this week, there was considerable buzz surrounding Jim Boeheim's new book, "Bleeding Orange." It was mainly because of an excerpt where the Orange basketball head coach openly discloses the first semester grades of Carmelo Anthony. In case you missed it, here it is:

"Carmelo did his work, went to class and never gave us any trouble. He made four Cs and a D in his first semester, and if anyone wants to roll his eyes at that, plenty of freshmen whoaren’t carrying a basketball team on their back do a lot worse. But we couldn’t put him in for the Wooden Award because his grades weren’t good enough. Nevertheless, this much is certain: No college basketball player in America was better than freshman Carmelo Anthony over the course of the 2002-03 season.”

Even though Boeheim does defend his 1.8 GPA, given everything that 'Melo was going through during the season, Anthony still wants to discuss some things with his former head coach.

"It's hard for me to converse about it,'' Anthony said, according to The Post's Marc Berman. "I don't know what he was saying. If I read it, I can get the tone of what he was trying to say because I know him. I know how he'd say a lot of things he said. Once I get the information and facts and talk to [Boeheim], I'll get a better understanding about what's going on."

"Honestly, I don't know what's happening,'' Anthony told The Post. "I can't speak [until] I get the facts. I'll come back to you. I haven't talked to him.''

And as for whether or not there is some truth to those grades, 'Melo says, "I don't know either. I haven't seen my grades in 12, 13 years.''

"Bleeding Orange" comes out on Nov. 4.
