Could Adrian Peterson end up being back in a Vikings uniform before the end of the 2014-15 NFL season? Not likely. Not likely at all. But his trial on child abuse-related charges is tentatively scheduled to start before the NFL season ends.

Earlier today, AP made a court appearance in Texas to answer to the charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child, which were filed against him last month. And his lawyer Rusty Hardin asked for Peteron's trial to start as soon as possible. In response, Peterson did not get a hard date for when the trial will start. But he did get a tentative start date for the trial, which is December 1. It could move up or down depending on how quickly other trials that are scheduled ahead of Peterson's trial move. But for now, it sounds like he'll be back in court to go on trial sometime in early December.

Hardin also spoke briefly with reporters while Peterson was by his side this morning.

"This is a really good man that I'm incredibly proud to represent," he said. "This is a case about parenting decisions and whether something unfortunate happened when a parenting decision was made by a man who believes strongly and loves his children very much."

Stay tuned to see when the trial will actually begin.
