The entire Ray Rice situation is sad. It's also shocking, infuriating, and disappointing. But above all else, it's sad. From the way the NFL has handled it to the act of domestic violence that caused it, the situation is upsetting on so many levels.

Earlier today, ESPN NFL analyst Mark Schlereth proved just how sad it is when he was asked about Rice and the issue of domestic violence. He gave a great breakdown of the situation that took place with the former Ravens running back and, at one point, was literally on the verge of tears. Rather than just showing how outraged he was by what took place, he took it to a different place and really drove home just how sad Rice's situation is.

Watch Schlereth nearly break down in the clip above. These is some of the most open and honest commentary that we've seen on this subject yet.
