Seahawks cornerback DeShawn Shead didn't play a very big role in Seattle's 26-20 win over the Broncos on Sunday afternoon. But a short time after the game ended, he did make one of the most important plays of his life right in the middle of the Century Link Field stadium.
In front of a group of his Seahawks teammates, Shead brought his girlfriend Jessica Martinez out to the middle of the field. And then, as several people whipped out their phones to document the moment, he dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him:
Within seconds, Shead, Martinez, and everyone in attendance at their proposal was celebrating:
A reporter even captured this video that shows the second-craziest celebration that took place inside of Century Link Field on Sunday:
And, of course, Martinez said yes. She showed off her ring later:
Congrats to the happy couple. Even though Shead didn't get the opportunity to play much yesterday, he was clearly one of the biggest winners of the day for the Seahawks.
