On Monday, everyone, including us, were applauding the heroism of USC defensive back Josh Shaw, who suffered two high ankle sprains after leaping from a second-floor balcony window to save his drowning 7-year-old nephew in a pool. However, in the words of Maury Povich when revealing the results of a Polygraph Test, "that...was a lie." Today, Shaw admitted that the story was made up and as a result, the school has suspended him indefinitely.

While USC wouldn't reveal the real reason for how Shaw suffered his injuries, head coach Steve Sarkisian did utilize his time with the media to express his feelings towards the senior defensive back now that the truth has come to light.

"We are extremely disappointed in Josh," Sarkisian said in the statement. "He let us all down. As I have said, nothing in his background led us to doubt him when he told us of his injuries, nor did anything after our initial vetting of his story.

"I appreciate that Josh has now admitted that he lied and has apologized. Although this type of behavior is out of character for Josh, it is unacceptable. Honesty and integrity must be at the center of our program. I believe Josh will learn from this. I hope that he will not be defined by this incident, and that the Trojan Family will accept his apology and support him."
