Like most people out there, former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand—who was paralyzed while making a tackle during a game against Army back in 2010—was amazed by Beyoncé's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last night. So amazed that, like most people out there, he decided to make a joke about it on Twitter. But the tweet that he sent out was not like any of the other tweets that you saw on your timeline last night. Because his tweet looked like this:

1.

Beyoncé got everyone like this when she performs Drunk in Love pic.twitter.com/9Zbck535Jd

The answer to the question that you're asking yourself right now is…yes. That is a photo of LeGrand making the tackle that ultimately left him paralyzed four years ago. And yes, he did use it as part of a joke with regards to Beyoncé. You got a problem with that?

LeGrand didn't. A short time after he sent out the tweet, he followed it up with this to explain why he felt comfortable enough sending it out:

2.

With my last tweet you guys can see that I have a sense of humor with my injury gotta enjoy life and laugh I know that cracked me up lol

— Eric LeGrand (@EricLeGrand52) August 25, 2014

And a lot of people commended him for hitting "Send" after coming up with the tweet:

3.

You have to love @EricLeGrand52's outlook on life. An inspiration to those looking to find positivity under tough circumstances.

But there were also some people who were not amused by LeGrand's tweet. They sent out tweets like this after seeing the meme he created:

4.

WTF? I'm actually offended RT @EricLeGrand52: Beyoncé got everyone like this when she performs Drunk in Love pic.twitter.com/vduHLP7apW

What did you think about LeGrand's tweet? We love that the guy has a sense of humor about his situation, especially when we think about everything that he's gone through in recent years.
