On Monday, Johnny Manziel—the bane of swaggerless NFL gas bags everywhere—continued to troll the establishment by flipping off the Redskins sideline during Cleveland's second preseason game on Monday. The following morning, legendary Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason lectured Manziel like a narc dad on WFAN, hitting all of the core Johnny Football talking points.
After burying Manziel for throwing up the finger, Esiason said, "You got a little nudnik by the name of Johnny Manziel, who once agains shows the immaturity that we saw last night by giving an obscene gesture to the Redskins sideline... If he opened as the starting quarterback in Week One, he would get his ass kicked."
Well, no mixing of words there. If Manziel wants to prove the haters wrong, he's going to have to work his way up the depth chart first. On Wednesday, the Browns announced that veteran Brian Hoyer, not Manziel, will begin the season as Cleveland's starting quarterback.
