UberX has continuously gotten cheaper and cheaper, but Uber CEO Travis Kalanick wants to keep going until the car service is more affordable than driving your own car. Of course, this is easier said than done. Uber would have to expand and figure out how to maintain ridiculously low prices while still turning a profit.

"The whole point of price cuts is to get UberX pricing below the cost of owning a car," Kalanick told the New York Times. "Let's say you take three or four trips a day on average. If we can get the price of UberX low enough, we can get to where it's cheaper to take Uber than to own a car."

Even if it's mad cheap it's hard to imagine everyone switching from car owner to frequent Uber user. There are certain joys and freedoms that come with car ownership, and those would be taken away if every commute is in the backseat of some dude's Prius. Some might convert, but us car lovers aren't selling our titles anytime soon.
