Earlier today, the Rockets wanted to show Carmelo Anthony what he would look like playing for Houston. So they Photoshopped a picture of him wearing a No. 7 Rockets jersey and put it up on an electronic billboard outside of the Toyota Center before their meeting with him. Just one problem: Jeremy Lin wears No. 7! And apparently, no one from the Rockets took the time to tell him that they would be putting up a photo of Carmelo wearing his jersey number, which didn't sit too well with Lin.

Lin didn't address the controversy directly. But he did take to Twitter a short time ago to post this tweet, which appears to address the issue:

Luke 6:29 - If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them

In fairness to the Rockets, they're trying to do everything they can to convince Carmelo to sign with them. And if that means promising him Lin's number, then so be it. But they really could have let Lin know that they were going to put the photo up before they did it. Because now, if they don't sign Carmelo, they're going to be stuck with an unhappy No. 7 on their hands.
