Kobe Bryant is looking for one last hurrah before retiring, and obviously free agency is a key to that. It would also help if he had one of his right-hand men with him when he returns.

Pau Gasol has been with the Lakers for seven seasons; 2013-14 might've been his last. The forward turned down a two-year/$2 million-plus contract.

It may have been that time too, because Gasol has had it rough these past two seasons between struggling to keep up with Mike D'Antoni's system and experiencing the worst Lakers season in recent memory. But if Gasol does leave, he's leaving behind a disappointed Bryant, who was pretty fond of him if you remember that Instagram photo responding to Dwight Howard's departure. That Kobe System is looking shaky these days.

That said, this is some good news for some Knicks fans since a Gasol/Phil Jackson reunion is a possibility.
