On Saturday afternoon, Nick Kyrgios—a 19-year-old tennis phenom from Australia—outlasted Jiri Vesely 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 in the third round of the 2014 Wimbledon Championships to advance to the fourth round of the tournament. He's actually squaring off against Rafael Nadal as we speak. But he almost didn't beat Vesely in the last round because of the very poor first set that he played. And he blamed that poor set on the music that he listened to before the match. Specifically, he blamed it on Drake.
"I came out really flat," he said after the match, "so hopefully I won't listen to that again! It was actually Drake. Didn't do the job for me."
No word on what Drake songs he was listening to before the match. But it's probably safe to say that they all got deleted from his iPod before he went to battle with Nadal today. And it's also probably safe to say that Drake won't be rooting for this guy anytime soon.
UPDATE:
Apparently, not listening to Drake works! Kyrgios knocked off Nadal today.
