It took until this week for FIFA and Brazil to realize that it wasn't a good idea to try and build a stadium in the middle of the Amazon.  With the World Cup underway the turf at the stadium in Manaus still is in rough shape. Manaus is in such a remote location that it cannot be reached by road, so all equipment for the stadium had to be brought in by ship. The turf has already dried up and multiple areas had to be replaced. There has also been a bunch of strikes due to working conditions. The workers in Brazil are having a fucked up week.
