Goalkeeper for the United States Mens National Team at the World Cup? Not a low-stakes gig. And yet, Tony Meola has done just that for three World Cups (1994, 1998, and 2002). He was also the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2000, and played in the MLS for a decade. Saying that the guy knows the game is a vast understatement.

So of course, when we found ourselves with a chance to catch up with Meola—and talk about, among other things, his life, the game, Luis Suarez's bite marks, and the USMNT's chances and play at the current World Cup, as well as how they played on Thursday in their match against Germany—we weren't about to turn it down. Complex News's Sean Evans sat down with Meola to go over all of this and more. Check the video above to see what the soccer legend had to say.
