With a lot of cap room and young assets, the Phoenix Suns are uniquely positioned to make some big noise in free agency this summer. According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, they’ve got two major targets in their sights:

LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

The Suns currently boast $33.5 million in salary cap space, and only need to clear another $10 million off the books to be able to offer both James and Anthony max deals. They’d be able to do so without getting rid of Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic, likely a key to getting any sort of hypothetical deal done.

Perhaps most intriguingly to potential recruits like LeBron or Carmelo, the Suns own three first round picks in 2015, meaning that combined with their pre-existing core they would be able to surround their new stars with a litany of young talent right away.

While this may all be a pipe dream, Phoenix could emerge as a dark horse in this summer’s free agent bonanza.
