We've been waiting to see the SSC Tuatara is production for a long time. It can hit 276 mph, according to the manufacturer, by virtue of a 1,350 hp and 1,042 lb-ft of torque 7.0L twin-turbo V8 with a 9200 rpm redline. That sounds like one hell of an engine. With a weight of 2,750 lbs, each horse only has to push just over two pounds around.

It looks like a space fighter from a sci-fi blockbuster, and after the delays, we were starting to worry that it was just another piece of vaporware. Luckily, construction will begin in August of the facility that will make the Tuatara. They Veyron Super Sport's days as the fastest car in the world are numbered.
