It's not exactly a secret that Prince is a pretty big sports fan. Back in 2010, he created a song called "Purple and Gold" for the Minnesota Vikings. He's also been spotted taking in Vikings games at the Metrodome. And who could ever forget about his epic pickup basketball game with Eddie and Charlie Murphy?
But even with all of that on the table, people were still pretty shocked today to see Prince holding some kind of scepter and sitting courtside during Rafael Nadal's fourth-round match at the French Open. In fact, most people have absolutely no idea whether or not Nadal actually won today (for the record, he did) or who he was going up against (it was Dusan Lajovic). But they know that Prince, in all his glory, was there.
In hindsight, maybe we should have seen this coming. After all, Damaris Lewis—who was seated next to Prince at Roland Garros today—let the world know that she and Prince were in town yesterday when she snapped this selfie:
She included the caption, "Selfies before the funk. #PrinceandDamarisTakeParis," with it.
But that didn't stop people from going absolutely nuts when they saw photos of Prince at the French Open. We've included a bunch of those photos in the thumbs gallery above.
