Last night, the Los Angeles Kings finished off the New York Rangers to become the 2014 Stanley Cup Champions. And even though he said that he would not be tweeting until mid-July, Nick Young hopped on Twitter to send this message to the Kings:
LA Kings I think I need a ring to every since I got on Zamboni y'all ain't look back lol good stuff LA all day
And you know what? Swaggy P has a point. When Young rode into the Staples Center on the Zamboni, the Kings were down 2-0 to the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Quarterfinals after getting blown out 6-3 and 7-2 in Games 1 and 2, respectively. While L.A. did lose Game 3, the contest Young attended, the Kings actually put up a fight, losing 4-3 in overtime. With their backs against the wall, the soon-to-be Stanley Cup Champions mustered four straight victories to advance to the next round.
And as Young put it, the Kings didn't look back, defeating both the Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks in seven games and then claiming The Cup in five games over the Rangers. With that being said, if equipment personnel are getting rings, fork one over to Swaggy P. He really does deserve it.
